Mariusz Wach (born December 14, 1979 in Krakow ) is a Polish heavyweight professional boxer.
As an amateur, Wach was Polish super heavyweight champion in 2003 and 2004, and in 2004 he also won the silver medal in super heavyweight at the 2nd EU Championships in Madrid . He was only defeated in the final to Roberto Cammarelle .
By knocking out Kevin McBride in the fourth round on July 29, 2011, he won the vacant WBC International title. On November 10, 2012, Wach boxed in the O 2 World Hamburg against Wladimir Klitschko for his world title according to the IBF , WBO , WBA and IBO versions . He lost the fight unanimously on points, which was the first loss in his professional career. The post-fight doping control was positive for anabolic steroids and he was banned for a year. Wach suspected that the funds were mixed in by a team member.
Wach made his comeback in October 2014.
