Mariusz Ziółko (born September 18, 1946 in Hamburg ) is a Polish engineer . He has been Professor of Automation and Signal Processing at the AGH Department of Electronics since 2005 .

Life

Ziółko graduated from the AGH Technical University in Cracow in 1970 , where he obtained his doctorate in 1973 and qualified as a professor in 1990 . In 2001 he received the honorary title of Professor of Technical Studies from the Polish President. He was a scholarship holder of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and in 2005 he was visiting professor at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten , Austria. He holds a professorship at the AGH Department of Electronics, where he heads the research group for digital signal processing. In addition, Ziółko is a co-author of publications on mathematical optimization models in the field of biology. He was a member of various scientific organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) and ISCA and was a member of the expert committee of several conferences. In addition, his work has influenced the development of Polish speech recognition technologies.
