Mark Hennen (born June 15, 1951 in Madison , Wisconsin ) is an American jazz pianist (also keyboard , e-piano ).

Live and act

Hennen studied at the University of Wisconsin and later had lessons with Cecil Taylor in Antioch and with Bill Dixon at Bennington College . In New York City he took private lessons with Borah Bergman . In the late 1970s he played with Jemeel Moondoc's Ensemble Muntu ( First Feeding , 1977), in the following two decades a. a. with William Hooker , with William Parker in the Collective 4tet (with Jeff Hoyer and Heinz Geisser ) and Alan Silvas Sound Visions Orchestra . In 1994 he presented the album Theory of Everything , influenced by Cecil Taylor , which was created in a duo with drummer Toby Kasavan . Collaborations with Daniel Carter , Chris Kelsey 's Unacknowledged Ensemble, Rashid Bakr and the formation Earth People followed in the 2000s . In a duo with drummer Jackson Krall , the album Space Blues, Volume 1 was created at the end of 2000 . In the field of jazz he was involved in 22 recording sessions between 1977 and 2008. His main job is in New York as a piano tuner .
