Mark Michel

Mark Michel (born April 23, 1975 in Crimmitschau ) is a German filmmaker and author .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1994, Mark Michel studied sociology and international politics as well as visual communication at the Bauhaus University Weimar at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena , the University of Leipzig , the University of Bath (Great Britain) and the University of Toronto (Canada) . As a writer and filmmaker he has worked in Cambodia, Finland, Belarus, India, Hungary, Thailand and Bosnia-Herzegovina, among others. One of the main focuses of his work is disability and inclusion. He took part in the Documentary Campus Masterschool 2012. His film "Veronika" was a. a. for the German Short Film AwardNominated in 2011 and awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Short Film Prize 2012 and the Golden Spatz 2012 - Special Prize for Innovation.

Mark Michel lives in Leipzig.
