Mark Jonathan Pincus (born February 13, 1966 in Chicago ) is a co-founder and current chairman of Zynga .

In addition to co-founding Zynga, Pincus founded Freeloader, Inc. , Tribe Networks and SupportSoft .

biography

Pincus studied at Wharton . He works at Lazard Freres & Co. and then became Vice President of Asian Capital Partners in Hong Kong for two years . He then studied at Harvard Business School (graduated in 1993) and worked as an associate at Bain & Co in 1992. He then worked as a manager at Tele-Communications, Inc (AT&T Cable). He then became Vice President of Columbia Capital .

In July 2007, he founded Zynga as his fourth company. He led Zynga as Chief Executive Officer until he was replaced by Don Mattrick in July 2013 . When Mattrick left in April 2015, he returned as CEO. Pincus has been Chairman since March 2016. He was succeeded as CEO by Frank Gibeau.

In 2009 Pincus was nominated by The Crunchies for “CEO of the Year” and in 2011 for “Founder of the Year”.
