Markersdorf bei Gera is a district of Hundhaupten in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

Markersdorf is about a kilometer northeast of Hundhaupten. The Federal Highway 2 runs east of the town of Gera coming towards Triptis , the hallway local bears since the Middle Ages called "High Road". The two source streams of the place feed another 15 small ponds and pools and are taken up by the Saarbach after a short run near Windischenbernsdorf .

history

In 1302 the town of Markersdorf, founded by German settlers, was first mentioned in a document. The village church is located at the highest point of the village - on the southwest edge of the village . The place is protected in the depression deepened by the Dorfbach, which was dammed into five small ponds in the locality and separates the 15 four-sided courtyards and buildings grouped in two lines. Currently (2012) the place has about 70 inhabitants. At the eastern edge of the district there is a holiday camp bordering Bundesstraße 2.
