history

founding

The association was founded in 1969 as a “Marketing Association for Agricultural Products in Lower Saxony” by various agricultural organizations, with the support of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Agriculture . At the time, it was the first institution of its kind at the state and federal level. In the same year, the association was renamed "Marketing Society for Agricultural Products from Lower Saxony". In the 1970s, her area of responsibility included, in particular, organizational and start-up advice for marketing associations and agricultural producer groups . The legal basis was the Market Structure Act of 1969. In order to improve the market position of the - far from market - Lower Saxony agriculture and food industry, so-called "commodity exchanges" and sales promotion campaigns were organized in German metropolitan areas and trade fair appearances at specialist and consumer fairs, in particular at the International Green Week in Berlin .

Over the course of its existence, the marketing company continuously adapted itself to the requirements of the target groups and the donor in terms of content, organization and its measures. In addition to the state government and the supervisory bodies of the state of Lower Saxony (state parliament, state audit office), the members of the association, the advisory board of the food industry that has existed since 2000 and the management of the marketing company, make their contribution.

In 2006, the name of the association was changed to reflect the target group-specific approach more clearly.
