Market hall in Revel
Beffroi

The market hall in Revel , a French commune in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region , was originally built in 1342 when the Bastide was built. The beffroi around which the hall was built had to be renewed in 1834.

The market hall on Place Philippe-VI-de-Valois has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 2006 .

The market hall is open on all four sides, it consists of a wooden construction and is closed by a tiled roof. In the Beffroi, a hall served as a meeting place for the council. There was also a prison in the building.

The Beffroi, which is now crowned by a lantern , originally had an apartment on the upper floor for the guard, who was supposed to warn of approaching enemies and the outbreak of a fire.
