The house Marktkirchhof 2 is a Grade II listed building in the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located in the historic Quedlinburg old town, north of the city's market square. The building registered as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register is located in the southern part of the east side of the Marktkirchhof.

Architecture and history

Classified as a World Heritage Site belonging timbered house was built in the early 1560. An inscription mentions the year 1766. The inscription provided with a coat of arms JJK ZM refers to the master carpenter Johann Joachim coal wagons . In 1986 the house was thoroughly renovated. Parts of the original facade, which was decorated with cleats , were preserved and reused. Inside there is an 18th century staircase.
