Markus Bellheim (born May 26, 1973 in Hamburg ) is a German pianist and university professor .

Artistic activity

Markus Bellheim gives solo recitals, gives concerts as a soloist with orchestra and as a chamber music and ensemble partner. He is particularly committed to contemporary music. In 2008 he recorded the complete works for piano solo by Wolfgang Rihm . In 2009 the cycle Vingt regards sur l'enfant-Jésus by Olivier Messiaen was published by NEOS. His recording with the piano concerto by Bruno Maderna together with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra has been awarded various prizes, including a. with the German Record Critics' Prize .
