Markus Briza (born December 8, 1979 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player . He currently plays at FC Trofaiach in the Austrian Oberliga Nord.

Career

The defender began his football career at the age of six in the SK Slovan Vienna youth team . In the summer of 1992, at the age of twelve, he moved to the youth department of SK Rapid Vienna .

1997 Briza was taken over into the amateur team of Rapid. After he failed to make the leap to the professional team, he accepted an offer from SC Untersiebenbrunn for the First Division in January 2000 and signed his first professional contract. In summer 2004 Briza moved to DSV Leoben , where he developed into a regular player.

In the 2005 soccer election of the Kronen Zeitung newspaper , he reached ninth place among all Austrian players with 44,854 votes. In January 2009, due to the financial decline of the DSV, Briza moved to SKU Amstetten in the Regionalliga Ost.
