Markus Ebner (Stylist)

Markus Ebner (born October 29, 1969 in Waldshut-Tiengen ) is a German fashion editor and stylist . In 2003 he founded “Achtung Mode”, an independent German fashion magazine.

Life

Markus Ebner graduated from the Klettgau-Gymnasium Tiengen in 1989 . He then did military service as a soldier for integrated use in a NATO unit in Heidelberg from 1989 to 1991 as a driver for a US major. From 1991 to 1992 he studied German and economics at the University of Heidelberg . From there he moved to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York , where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Communications in 1995 with " cum laude ". He was also editor-in-chief of the student tent “W27” and designed columns and fashion shoots specially produced for the newspaper, for example with the Afro-American model Roshumba Williams. A six-month stay in Paris with an internship and first publications in the specialist magazine “Women's Wear Daily” also took place in this tent .

After completing his studies, Ebner worked from 1995 to 1999 at KCD, a PR and events company specializing in fashion in New York, which Gianni Versace also looked after in America. After Versace's murder in 1997, his sister and company successor, Donatella Versace , hired Ebner as her right-hand man to organize exhibitions on behalf of her late brother. Ebner was also at Donatella Versace's first show in the organization team.

Patrick McCarthy, the head of Fairchild Publications, brought Ebner to the fashion magazine "Details" as head of fashion. He stayed there from 1999 to 2001. After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 , Ebner returned to Germany. In summer 2002 he founded the magazine “Sepp Football Fashion”, in September 2003 “Achtung”. Ebner was employed as a stylist at the German “ Vanity Fair ” from 2007 to 2009 , from 2009 to 2013 at “ Zeit -Magazin” and since 2013 has been the head stylist at “ FAZ -Magazin”.

In April 2019, in collaboration with journalists Alfons Kaiser , Silke Wichert and Nicole Urbschat, he brought out the A50 ("Achtung 50"), a list of the 50 most important fashion personalities in Germany , for the first time .
