Markus Gasser (* 1967 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian literary scholar and author .

Life

After attending high school he studied German, English Literature and American Studies at the University of Innsbruck , where he with a novel theory in 2007 , the demolition of the Platonic cave , habilitation .

In 2010 he published The Kingdom of the Sea. Daniel Kehlmann's secret about the work of German-Austrian successful author Daniel Kehlmann . The book of books for the island followed in 2014 and A World History in 33 Novels in 2015 , followed by Die Launen der Liebe in 2019 . He also worked as a literary critic with articles for Weltwoche , Rheinische Merkur and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . He also teaches at the Universities of Innsbruck and Saarbrücken, mainly on Thomas Mann, contemporary German literature, horror and thriller and the world literature of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Since February 2017 he has been creating his own literature channel on YouTube, literature is everything .

Markus Gasser is married and lives in Zurich .
