Markus Hottgenroth (born April 21, 1970 in Goch ) is a German actor .

Life

After graduating from Quirinus-Gymnasium in Neuss, he studied Catholic theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn from 1989 to 1993 . In the theological convict Collegium Albertinum he first prepared for the priesthood.

While still studying acting in Vienna, Hottgenroth joined the Beinhardt Ensemble under the direction of Meret Barz and in 1996 played the musical Cabaret in the Museumsquartier Wien alongside Karl Markovics and Nina Proll .

In 1998 director Ulf Reiher engaged him at the Detmold State Theater . In 2017 he was a member of the festival jury for the NRW Theatertreffen.

From the 2018/2019 season, Hottgenroth is under contract at the Ulm Theater.
