Markus Jaroschka

Markus Jaroschka (born September 29, 1942 ) is an Austrian writer (especially poetry ) and was co-editor of the literary magazine Lichtungen until 2019 .

Life

Markus Jaroschka grew up in Graz , where he trained as a baker and cook. In his second education he studied philosophy and mathematics at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz ; here he obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 1976. From 1972 to 1976 he was an assistant at the Institute for Philosophy at the University of Graz , later for many years in adult education , e.g. B. in the educational center Schloss Retzhof and from 1986 to 1996 as director of the Austrian Urania for Styria . He writes poetry and prose.

Contributions

From 1990 to 2019 he was co-editor of the magazine Lichtungen - magazine for literature, art and contemporary criticism . He also worked on international projects, e.g. B. Graz 2003 - European Capital of Culture , City Clerk of Graz and The Poetics of the Border (with Dževad Karahasan ).
