Markus Kessler (athlete)
Markus-Michael Kessler (born January 28, 1962 in Vorsfelde ) is a former German long jumper .
At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Gothenburg in 1984 he was seventh with 7.59 m, a year later he was eliminated at the 1985 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Piraeus in the qualification with 7.53 m. In total, Kessler competed seven times in the national jersey in 1984 and 1985. He had already participated in the Junior European Championships in 1981, but had been disqualified with the sprint relay in the preliminary run.
At the German Championships in 1980 he finished fifth, in 1981 he was fourth. In 1984 and 1985 he was German indoor champion . In 1986 he was third behind Dietmar Haaf and Jürgen Hingsen at the German Championships , after finishing fifth in 1984 and sixth in 1985 .
Markus Kessler started for VfL Wolfsburg , he was a trained industrial clerk.
