Markus Kupka

Markus Simon Kupka (born August 22, 1964 in Bonn ) is a German reproductive medicine specialist .

Life

Markus S. Kupka is the son of Horst-Werner Kupka . He graduated from high school in 1983 and studied medicine from 1984 to 1991 at the universities of Cologne , Tübingen and Bonn . In 1993 he received his doctorate in medicine. He was supported by the doctoral award from the Werner Gehring Foundation . In 1991 he began his professional training as a research assistant at the University Hospital Bonn . With a grant from the German Research Foundation , he worked at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta , GA, and at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, USA , from 2001 to 2002 . This was also supported by a grant from the B. Braun Foundation , Melsungen. In 2002 he became head of gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine at the University Medical Center Munich-Innenstadt . In 2005 he was granted the license to teach gynecology and obstetrics . In 2011 he was appointed adjunct professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . From 2013 to 2015, Kupka headed the European Register for Reproductive Medicine ( The European IVF Monitoring Consortium , EIM). Kupka has been a member of the board of trustees and board of directors of the German IVF Register (DIR) since 2002 . He also heads the Working Group for Information Processing in Gynecology and Obstetrics (AIG).

His main research interests are the development and use of clinically relevant instruments for quality assurance in human reproductive medicine, with particular emphasis on information technology tools and epidemiological analyzes.
