Markus Löffler (biometrician)

Markus Löffler (born October 28, 1954 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German physician, physicist and biostatistician and director of the Institute for Medical Informatics, Statistics and Epidemiology (IMISE) at the Medical Faculty of Leipzig University .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1973, Markus Löffler studied human medicine at the University of Cologne . In 1980 he passed the medical examination, followed by the license to practice medicine and in 1983 the doctorate to Dr. med. at the University of Cologne. While still studying human medicine, Markus Löffler began a double degree in physics in 1976 and completed it in 1982 with the main diploma examination.

In 1990 he was Medical Documentation, Statistics and Biomathematics in professional habilitation . He spent a sabbatical year in the Statistics Department at Reading University , England , in 1993 . In 1994 he was appointed to a C4 professorship and became director of IMISE.

Markus Löffler is married and has two children.
