Markus Ortlieb (born  December 11, 1980 in Müllheim ) is a German football player .

Career

In his youth Ortlieb played for SpVgg. Untermünstertal and later for the A-Juniors of SC Freiburg . He came to SC Pfullendorf via FC Denzlingen and Bahlinger SC in summer 2003 and played there in the Regionalliga Süd until 2004 . He then moved to the second team of TSV 1860 Munich , but could not recommend himself there for the professional team.

In 2005 Ortlieb moved to Wuppertaler SV Borussia in the Regionalliga Nord. As a regular player, he played with the team for promotion to the second Bundesliga . After two years he returned to southern Germany and signed a two-year contract with the Stuttgarter Kickers to help the club qualify for the third division . However, he could not get stuck in the team and after ten games of the season on the first eleven match days was only used in the second team. After successfully qualifying as tenth in the table of the 2007/08 regional league season, he moved up to the first team's squad. He made his professional debut in the 3rd division on October 5, 2008 in a 3: 3 against the second team of Bayern Munich , when he came on in the 88th minute. As a result, he established himself in the team and by the end of the season had 25 professional appearances alongside Bashiru Gambo , Marcus Mann , Manuel Salz and Michael Schürg .

After the club was relegated from the third division, there was no interest in extending the contract. From July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2013 he returned to SpVgg as a trainer. Untermünstertal back to the regional league season 2.
