Marcus Mann (born March 14, 1984 in Leonberg ) is a former German soccer player and now a functional , who is currently active as the sports director of the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim junior performance center .

Career

As a player

The defender played for Karlsruher SC from 1995 , before that he was active at SKV Rutesheim . He made two appearances for the KSC professionals in the second division. At the beginning of the 2006/07 season, the 23-year-old finally moved to SV Darmstadt 98 at Böllenfalltor, where he played 31 games and scored three goals in the lilies jersey. From 2007 to 2009 he played for the Stuttgarter Kickers . Mann's 2007/08 season balance: 32 games, 2 goals, 8 yellow cards, 1 second yellow card. Also in the 2008/09 season Mann ran for the Stuttgarter Kickers , then in the newly founded 3rd division .

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season, Marcus Mann moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken . There he initially signed a one-year contract, but stayed with the club as head of defense in the following season, in which 1. FC Saarbrücken competes in the third division. For the 2011/12 season, Mann moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden .

As a trainer and functionary

On April 29, 2016, Marcus Mann was introduced as the sporting director at 1. FC Saarbrücken . On April 30, 2016, he ended his active football career. After the release of head coach Dirk Lottner at the beginning of December 2019, Mann took over his position on an interim basis until January 1, 2020, followed by Lukas Kwasniok , with whom the team ultimately managed to rise.

At the beginning of July 2020, the Swabian took up his position as head of sport in the youth department of the Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , where he ended his playing career.
