Markus “Jimmy” Osthoff (born November 19, 1968 in Saarbrücken ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
The 1.72 meter tall midfielder played a total of 130 Bundesliga soccer games for MSV Duisburg between 1994 and 2000 , scoring 13 goals. He also played for Eintracht Trier , Borussia Mönchengladbach , Eintracht Braunschweig and 1. FC Saarbrücken . In the 2nd Bundesliga , Osthoff made 68 appearances in which he was able to score five goals. After the 2002/03 season he ended his professional career.
Today Markus Osthoff is a teacher at the Gustav-Heinemann-Realschule Bottrop . He teaches home economics and sports. He also works as a freelance nutritionist , including in an outpatient rehabilitation center in Gelsenkirchen .
For the 2012/13 season, Osthoff took over his first coaching position at the Lower Rhine district league club SV Spellen , which he looked after for three years.
