Griggsville is a city in Pike County in the state of Illinois in the United States . In 2000, there were 1,258 residents in the city between the Mississippi River and the Illinois River . Griggsville is on IL 107 and just north of Interstate 72 . US Highway 54 also ends here .

According to the 2010 United States Census Bureau , Griggsville has an area of 2.79 m 2 , excluding land. In the southwest corner of the urban area there is an urban park with the measuring point. The cemetery is in the northwest. The city is surrounded by the township of the same name . The place is drained by a number of not constantly water-bearing brooks.
