history

State in 1998

Today's stop was opened as Loxstedt train station in 1847 together with the former Bremen – Geestemünde line. On March 10, 1862, a reception building with apartments for station officers and attendants, goods sheds and various ancillary buildings was added.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Loxstedt was shown as a long-distance stop in the imperial course books. On the railway line, a swept people frequented the 1905 daily train pair Berlin - Geestemünde that held in Loxstedt, and three continuous pairs of passenger Leipzig -Geestemünde and Hannover -Geestemünde, two of which made each in Loxstedt station.

In 1926, it was planned to connect the port rail systems of the Wesermünde fishing port to Loxstedt station. Loxstedt should get a marshalling yard . The plans for a new port station were the subject of the Schinkel competition for architecture in 1933 , but were not implemented.

In 1966 the railway line was electrified. At the end of 1975, the loading of goods was stopped and the station was dismantled to a stopping point with an alternate connection point to the then Oscar Neynaber company. This siding was removed during the route renovation in 2008. The station building from 1862 and the dispatcher control room 'Lsf' were demolished shortly before Christmas 1978.

There is a P&R facility with around 60 parking spaces and a regional bus stop right next to the platform in the direction of Bremen. The stop was last modernized in the 1990s. The platforms were demolished from December 2014 to June 2015 as part of the Lower Saxony is on the train campaign (NiaZ for short) and replaced by a higher platform edge (old 38 cm above SE , new 76 cm above SE) including a guidance system for the blind. Since the renovation, the trains can be reached at the same level on both platforms.

In December 2010 the station was integrated into the new network of the regional S-Bahn Bremen / Lower Saxony .
