Markus Pekoll (born October 13, 1987 in Schladming ) is a former Austrian mountain biker in the downhill discipline .

Career

Markus Pekoll began downhill mountain biking in 2004, started his first World Cup in Schladming in 2004 and was the first Austrian to make the top seven in the world rankings. He is a six-time downhill national champion , overall European Cup winner (2011) and European champion (2013).

So far, Markus Pekoll has ridden for the following teams: Specialized Andas Biken Graz (2005–2007), Fast4ward Racing Solid Bikes (2008–2010), MS Evil Racing (2011) and MS Mondraker Team (since 2012).

In 2017, Pekoll became national downhill champion for the sixth time and also national enduro champion at the Schöckl near Graz .
In August, the then 29-year-old declared his active time over.
