Markus Schmidt-Märkl
Markus Schmidt-Märkl (* 1959 in Homburg ) is a German television producer and director .
Life
He took a degree in theater studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich , after completing his studies in 1984 he got a job as a cameraman at the television studio in Munich. In 1986 he switched to Bavarian television. In 1987 he founded a production company, and from 1989 he also worked as a director and concept author. The focus of his work is on industrially manufactured series and entertainment formats.
Markus Schmidt-Märkl has been executive producer since the start of the BR series Dahoam is Dahoam and received the Bavarian TV Prize 2010 for the production . In August 2008 he was appointed to the management of the PolyScreen production company for film and television based in Munich. The company was founded as a joint venture between Munich-based Constantin Film AG and the Hamburg-based Polyphon Film und Fernsehgesellschaft.
He is married, has a daughter and lives in Munich.
