Markus Wolfahrt (born October 1, 1960 in Bregenz ) and Thomas Berthold (born August 18, 1962 in Klösterle ) are Austrian composers, lyricists and musicians. You are the founder of the Klostertaler .

Life

Wolfahrt and Berthold grew up with six other siblings in Klösterle. In 1976 they founded the young Klostertaler together with Bernhard Fritz, Hartwig Amann and Ernst Berthold , which made them famous in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His brother Michael Berthold became the band's bus driver. In 1993 they won the Grand Prix of Folk Music in Rostock with the title An a Wunder haved i g'laubt . In 1995 they competed again for Germany at the Grand Prix of Folk Music with the title Christmas in July, but only finished eleventh in the preliminary round. At the beginning of 1997, Thomas Berthold left the band and became a banker in Thuringia in Vorarlberg . In addition, the Klostertaler deleted the word “young” from their name, since all members were already over 30 years old. With the title Home is where the mountains are , they competed at the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 2008 and took first place. In 2009 Wolfahrt planned to compete at Dancing Stars , but in January he tore his ligament while skiing and had to cancel. The Klostertaler broke up after 34 years . In 2011 Wolfahrt released the solo album Mein Weg . In 2013 he released his second album titled Limitless Freedom .
