Marleen Barth
Marleen Barth (born March 21, 1964 in Den Helder ) is a Dutch politician of the Partij van de Arbeid .
Life
Barth trained as a journalist and studied political science at the University of Amsterdam . She became a member of the Partij van de Arbeid and joined a trade union . From 1990 to 1997 Barth worked as a parliamentary reporter for the Dutch newspaper Trouw . From May 19, 1998 to May 23, 2002, Barth was a member of the Second Chamber of the States General . Barth has been chairwoman of GGZ Nederland , the Dutch association for mental health and addiction support, since 2008 .
Barth has been a member of the First Chamber since June 7, 2011 and, as the successor to Han Noten, chairwoman of her parliamentary group. Barth is married to the politician Jan Hoekema , who has been mayor of Wassenaar since 2007 , and lives with him in Wassenaar.
