Marlies Fritzen (actually Marie-Elisabeth Fritzen, nee Strohband) (born February 13, 1962 in Coesfeld ) is a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament for the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party . Her main topics are environmental policy and cultural policy .

Profession and volunteering

After graduating from school in 1981, she trained as an editor at the Münsterschen Zeitung until 1983 . This was followed by a degree in history and German at the University of Augsburg , which she completed in 1989 with a master's degree.

After finishing her studies, Marlies Fritzen worked as a teacher for German as a foreign language, history and German in Lübeck until 2000 . From 2001 to 2004 she worked as a research assistant for the Kulturstiftung Hansestadt Lübeck and from 2004 to 2006 as a consultant for press and public relations at St. Petrikirche zu Lübeck.

Marlies Fritzen's political career began in 2000 when she was elected district board spokeswoman for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Ostholstein . In 2006 she was no longer available for this task, as she had been elected state chairman of the Greens in Schleswig-Holstein at the 2005 party congress. She gave up this office in 2009 when she entered the state parliament.

Political electoral offices

From the local elections in Schleswig-Holstein in May 2003 to her entry into the state parliament in October 2009, she was a member of the Greens' district parliamentary group in East Holstein.

For the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2009 , Fritzen ran for the first time and moved into the state parliament via third place on the state list. She is a member of the Environment and Agriculture Committee and environmental policy spokesperson for her group. She retained these positions after the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2017 . She is also a deputy member of the Petitions Committee, of which she has been a member since 2012. In the 17th and 18th electoral terms (2009-2017) she was Vice President of the State Parliament and as such a member of the Council of Elders. In the 18th electoral term (2012–2017) she was also deputy chairwoman of the Environment and Agriculture Committee.
