Marlis Schwenk

Marlis Schwenk (born February 1, 1945 ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Schwenk attended the Protestant elementary school in Kirkel and then switched to the Christian von Mannlich-Gymnasium in Homburg , where she passed the school-leaving examination in 1965. Then she completed an apprenticeship for the higher service in the Saarland financial administration. From 1968 worked as a clerk at the Homburg tax office, from 1980 in the legal remedies office .

Schwenk was a member of the ÖTV and joined the SPD in 1967. She was a board member of the SPD Homburg-Mitte and deputy chairwoman of the SPD city association Homburg. For several years she was a member of the Homburg city council. From 1990 to 1999 she was a member of the Saarland state parliament .

Marlis Schwenk is a Protestant . She is married and has two daughters. She has been involved in the workers' welfare organization on a voluntary basis since 1968 , and from 1996 to 2004 she was district chairwoman of the AWO in the Saarpfalz district . In addition, she was patient advocate at the Saarland University Hospital and is a member of the board of the association "Friends of the Saarland University Hospital".
