Maroantsetra is a city on the northeast coast of Madagascar in the Analanjirofo region and Toamasina province . The city is at the northern end of Antongil Bay . The small island of Nosy Mangabe is located about two kilometers to the southeast in this bay. In 2005, Maroantsetra had 22,503 residents.
