The Mananara Nord National Park (French Parc national de Mananara-Nord ) is located on the east coast of Madagascar . It is about 24,000 hectares, of which 23,000 hectares are on land and 1,000 hectares are marine protected areas. The latter includes the three islands of Nosy Be (or Nosy Antafana), Nosy Rangontsy and Nosy Hely .
geography
The park is located on Antongil Bay in the Analanjirofo region , around 100 km south of Maroantsetra. The port city of Toamasina is about 210 km south of the park.
In the World Database on Protected Areas , the size of the park is given as 250.06 km². The management is carried out by the National Association for the Management of Protected Areas in Madagascar (ANGAP).
fauna
77 bird species, 14 lemurs including Jonah's mouse lemur , 17 rodent species and 7 species of freshwater fish have been identified in the park area .
