The Tsimanampetsotsa National Park (sometimes Tsinmanampetsotse called) is a 43,200-hectare national park in the region Atsimo-Andrefana in southwest Madagascar . The national park is located in the area of the Mahafaly Plateau , which rises slightly to the east, south of the provincial capital Toliara (formerly Tuléar). The national park includes the Tsinmanampetsotsa salt lake and extends essentially east and south from the lake.
The villages of Efoetse and Beheloka are located near the national park . At the exit of Efoetse on the access road to the salt lake there is a station of the Malagasy National Park Service. The national park is supported by funds from the German Reconstruction Loan Corporation .

In the Tsimanampesotsa National Park were among others
- 112 species of birds, including flamingos and five of the nine species of the silkworm ( coua ),
- 39 species of reptiles (including the radiated tortoise ),
- three types of amphibians
proven.
There are four species of lemurs ago, two of diurnal (the Katta ( Lemur catta ) and the Verreaux ( Propithecus verreauxi verreauxi )) and two nocturnal (of Petter Wieselmaki ( Lepilemur petteri ) and the Gray-brown mouse lemur ( Microcebus griseorufus )).
185 plant species were found in the national park. Apart from the immediate area of the salt lake, the vegetation consists mainly of xeromorphic (drought-adapted) thorn forest .
Tourist sights
Tuléar can be reached by plane or road from the capital, Antananarivo . From there, pirogues and small speedboats run regularly to Anakao, which is well developed for tourists . There is also a slightly longer road link for robust vehicles at Tuléar. There are also overnight accommodations in the fishing village of Ambula , which is located directly at Efoetsy and can be easily reached via an unpaved road.
