Pachypodium geayi is a plant type from the genus Pachypodium in the family of Hundsgiftgewächse (Apocynaceae).

description

Pachypodium geayi is a tree with a stature height of mostly 4 to 5 m, rarely up to 10 m. The plant is reinforced with thorns coated with white felt. The leaves are 40 cm long or occasionally longer and 2 cm wide. They are hairy and dark olive in color, the leaf margin is rolled down.

The flowers are in strongly branched panicles on approximately 1.5 cm long peduncles . They measure 2 cm in diameter, are colored white and have splaying corolla lobes so that the stamens are clearly emphasized.

The fruits are 16 cm long and 4 cm in diameter, the seeds are 8 to 10 mm in size.

Occurrence

The species is common in southern Madagascar .
