Career

Until 2008: career and first experiences as a professional

Jonathan Dasnières de Veigy started playing tennis at the age of four. As a junior he could not celebrate any major successes and even as a professional it took two years until he was able to collect world ranking points for the first time in a satellite tournament in April 2006 . Almost a year later, he won his first Future title, and two more titles in this category followed in 2007. In 2008 Dasnières de Veigy was able to gain a foothold on the ATP Challenger Tour , where he reached the quarter-finals twice. In the same year he also won another future title, which made him one of the top 400 in the world rankings.

2009–2010: Challenger finals and ATP debut

In August 2009 Dasnières de Veigy reached the final in Saransk and Samarqand in two consecutive Challenger tournaments, but went there against Íñigo Cervantes and Dustin Brown as a loser from the square.

After failing to qualify in several ATP tournaments in the previous year , he made it into the main draw of an ATP tournament for the first time in July 2010 in Båstad . There he had no chance against his compatriot Stéphane Robert . In 2010 he reached his best position in the world rankings in 2010 with rank 203, but at the end of the year he fell out of the top 300 again.

2011–2012: Challenger finals and Grand Slam debut

In July 2011 Dasnières de Veigy qualified as in the previous year for the ATP tournament in Båstad . He was then able to win his first ATP match against Andreas Vinciguerra , who was competing with a wildcard , before he was eliminated by Potito Starace . A few weeks later he reached the semi-finals at the Challenger tournament in Tampere and alongside David Guez he was able to win his first title in this category. At the US Open he was able to qualify for a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in August 2011 , but he was eliminated in the first round against Tommy Haas . At the following ATP tournament in Metz he managed another qualification, but against Philipp Kohlschreiber he suffered another first round defeat.

In April 2012 Dasnières de Veigy reached in Naples for the first time in almost three years the individual finals of a Challenger tournament, in which he was subject to Andrei Kuznetsov . Just a week later, he was in another Challenger final in Ostrava and won his first title there with a two-set win over local hero Jan Hájek . This enabled him to enter the top 200 in the world rankings for the first time, and he was also rewarded by the French Tennis Association with a wildcard for the French Open .

He played his last match so far in October 2013 at a Challenger tournament in Australia. He ended his tennis career that same year.
