Chev. Anthony Cassar founded a wine house under the name A. & G. Cassar after the First World War . Since 1956 the company, which is still owned by the Cassar family, has been called Marsovin Ltd. Initially, imported grapes were pressed, but since the 1950s Marsovin has had its own fields where red and white grapes - mainly French varieties - are grown. In the 1990s and 2000s, the company group in Qormi also produced canned beer, as well as sweet drinks and table water in glass and PET bottles.
