Martín Ruipérez Sánchez
Martín Ruipérez Sánchez (* 1923 in Peñaranda de Bracamonte ; † July 2, 2015 in Madrid ) was a Spanish Greek scholar and linguist .
Life
Martín Ruipérez Sánchez was professor of Greek philology at the University of Salamanca (since 1972) and at the University of Complutense (until 1988), former president of the Sociedad Española de Estudios Clásicos and the Patronato de la Fundación Pastor. He was editor of the magazine Minos. Revista de filología egea from 1956 to 1980 and since 1956 member of the Comité International Permanent des Études Mycéniennes .
Research priorities
Ruipérez Sánchez worked on ancient Greek linguistics, especially syntax and semantics , Homeric and Mycenaean Greek . With the Spanish Greek scholars and Mykenologen José Luis Jiménez Melena he has an introduction to the Mycenaean Greek and Mycenaean culture published
