Martín Zúñiga (born August 6, 1970 in Tampico , Tamaulipas ), also known by the nickname El Pulpo ( German The Octopus ), is a former Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper .

Life

"El Pulpo" Zúñiga began his professional career in the 1992/93 season with the Tigres de la UANL , for which he played until 1995. He then moved to Club Deportivo "Chivas" Guadalajara , with which he won the Mexican championship in the summer of 1997 . In the same year he came to his only use for the Mexican national team .

Although he left Guadalajara in 1999 and still played for various other clubs, he kept returning to "Chivas". In the 2001/02 season he was again under contract with Chivas Guadalajara and in the 2005 season he ended his active career in the US Major League Soccer at CD Chivas USA .
