Marta Press is a small German publisher based in Hamburg .

history

The publishing house was founded in 2013 by Jana Reich (* 1968). Andreas Reich (* 1965, † 2015) worked with her until spring 2015. The publisher is one of the independent publishers who take part in the hotlist every year . Jana Reich has been part of the Book Women network since 2015 .

program

Socially critical topics form the main focus of the program, including anti-feminism , gender studies and LGBTI , National Socialism , Shoah , emigration , exile , violence and the consequences of trauma . The publisher also publishes a series of illustrated children's books. The focus is on same-sex love, intersex , prevention of sexual violence and dealing with one's own feelings.

In 2019, the children's book PS: There is Lieblingseis was awarded the "KIMI seal" for diversity in children's and youth literature. In the same year, the book received Sound and Sexism. Gender in the Sound of Popular Music the “IASPM Book Prize” (International Association for the Study of Popular Music).
