Marta Tomac (born September 20, 1990 in Trondheim , Norway ) is a Croatian-Norwegian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Norwegian national team.
Career
Marta Tomac initially played for Utleira. From 2006 the back court player ran for Selbu IL . After Tomac finished second in the top scorer list of the Eliteserien with 143 goals in the 2009/10 season, they signed the Danish first division club SK Aarhus . A year later she joined the Norwegian first division club Byåsen IL . In the summer of 2015, she moved to league rivals Vipers Kristiansand . With the Vipers, she won the Norwegian championship in 2018 and 2019 and the Norgesmesterskap, the Norwegian cup competition, in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Furthermore, she was in the final of the EHF Cup in 2018 .
Tomac played for Croatian national teams from the age of 12. For Croatia she ran at the U-17 European Championships in 2007 and at the U-20 World Cup in 2010 . She also played 11 international matches for the Croatian senior team . After Tomac later accepted Norwegian citizenship, she made her debut for the Norwegian national team on November 26, 2015 . In the same year Tomac took part in the world championship , where she won the gold medal. During the tournament she scored 10 hits. A year later she won another gold medal at the European Championships . She also finished fifth at the 2018 European Championship .
Others
Her father Željko Tomac is a Croatian handball trainer who moved to Norway with his wife in 1986. Her sister Teodora Tomac also plays handball in the highest Norwegian league.
