Martha Schneider-Bürger (born October 21, 1903 in Sterkrade , † September 25, 2001 in Gelnhausen ) was a German engineer .

After graduating from high school in 1923, Martha Schneider-Bürger began studying structural engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and, after completing her intermediate diploma, moved to the Technical University of Munich in 1925 , where she was the first German female civil engineer to complete her studies in 1927 . Martha Schneider-Bürger started her career in an engineering office in Düsseldorf , before she worked for the “Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl; Advice center for steel use ” worked. After the birth of two children, she continued to work as a freelancer in her engineering profession.

In 1930 Martha Schneider-Bürger joined the Association of German Engineers . There she was active in various committees, including in the working group “Women in Engineering”. They also supported a voluntary basis , the German Institute for Standardization in matters of standardization of the steel structure .

Martha Schneider-Bürger became known to the specialist audience primarily through her tables of steel profiles . Her work appeared in 23 editions, which she edited until her death .

In 2011, a square at the Technisches Rathaus Oberhausen -Sterkrade was named after Martha Schneider-Bürger.
