The Martin Luther Church in the Lohe district of the city of Bad Oeynhausen is the parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran parish Lohe, which belongs to the Vlotho parish of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia .

History and architecture

In 1889, the parish was created by Lohe Abpfarrung of the community Rehme ( Chiesa ). Construction of the Martin Luther Church began in 1891 and was inaugurated in 1892. It was a neo-Romanesque hall church made of red brick with a west tower and an apse with a quintuple .

In the 1960s the church was completely renovated and plastered white. The neo-Gothic fittings have been removed. Only one altar Bible donated by Empress Auguste Viktoria has survived.

In January 1990 the copper-covered tower was destroyed by a hurricane and restored within six months, now supplemented with dormers and a tower clock. The church was then placed under monument protection.
