Martin Biles
Martin Biles ( Martin Broomall Biles; born March 30, 1919 in San Diego , † August 25, 2017 in Houston ) was an American javelin thrower .
In 1948 he qualified by winning the US eliminations for the Olympic Games in London , where he was sixth.
In 1943 and 1944 he became US champion. As a student at the University of California, Berkeley , he won the NCAA title in 1940 and 1941 . He set his personal best of 70.10 m on June 25, 1949 in Fresno .
