Martin Brown

Martin Brown (* 20th century ) is a film producer and art director .

Career

Martin Brown's career in the film business began as art director in the 1992 drama Strictly Ballroom . This activity he followed in the films Mary and Billy's Holiday before he worked as a film producer. On William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet, Brown still worked as a co-producer, who was honored with four awards at the British Academy Film Awards in 1998 , including Baz Luhrmann in the category “ Best Director ". This was the second collaboration with Luhrmann. They then made the film Moulin Rouge , for which both received a nomination in the “ Best Film ” category at the 2002 Academy Awards . Brown was also nominated at the BAFTA Awards and received a PGA Award from the Producers Guild of America . After differences among themselves, this was the last joint project. As a film producer, Brown was also responsible for the two television films Mermaids - Landgang with Episodes and 1% One Percenters: Search for a Screenplay, as well as for the documentary A Sister's Love .

He founded his own film production company, Martin Brown Films , in 2001.
