Martin Ibler
Martin Ibler (born June 17, 1955 in Bad Harzburg ) is a German legal scholar .
After graduating from high school in 1974 in Bad Harzburg, Ibler did military service and was there last time a soldier with the rank of first lieutenant of the reserve . He then began studying law in 1977 at the University of Göttingen , which he completed with the state examinations in 1981 and 1983. He then worked as a lawyer in Bad Harzburg for six years and received his doctorate in 1987 with a thesis on planning approval law . After he returned to the University of Göttingen in 1990, he became in 1997 Volkmar Götz with work right Nursing legal protection in administrative law habilitation . After two teaching and research stays at the University of Valencia and substitute professorships at the Universities of Kiel and Konstanz , Ibler was appointed to the University of Konstanz in 2000 as successor to Winfried Brohm , where he was appointed full professor of public law in January 2001 . He holds the chair for public law with a focus on administrative law .
Ibler's research interests are in administrative law, constitutional law and comparative law ( constitutional and administrative law in Spanish-speaking countries).
In the legislative process for the law regulating access to federal information (IFG), Ibler was one of the sharpest critics of the bill.
