Larsson took part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski from 1999 to 2011 . He ran his first World Cup race in Falun in February 2000 , which he finished with 83rd place over 15 km freestyle. His first World Cup points got in December 2003 in Davos with the 20th place over 15 km classic. A day later he took third place with the season. This was his first and only podium in the World Cup. From 2004 he also competed in the cross-country skiing marathon cup . There he took second place in the Wasalauf in 2005 . He also took second place in 2006 at the König-Ludwig-Lauf . His best placing in the overall ranking of the marathon cup was tenth place in 2011. In January 2007 he achieved in Otepää with the seventh place over 15 km classic his best place in an individual World Cup race. At the following Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo he came in 75th place over 15 km freestyle, 17th place in the 50 km mass start race and won bronze with the relay.
