Martin Ruhfus (born August 9, 1934 ; † January 20, 2012 in Oldenburg (Oldenburg) ) was a German Lutheran clergyman, educator and book author.

Life

Martin Ruhfus was ordained on November 1st, 1962 in Bremerhaven and introduced there as a pastor in 1963. In 1966 he moved to the state youth parish as pastor, and in 1971 to Bissendorf . From 1978 to 1989 he was head of the regional church educational institution Lutherstift Falkenburg in Ganderkesee as well as head of the convent and lecturer at the Lutherstift. It was important to him that the church congregations become active in diaconal activities and - in a first step - become aware of the multiple forms of need in the congregation, in the society to which they belong and worldwide (instead of diaconal tasks in specialist institutions and aid organizations to delegate). In 1990 he was a brief pastor in Springe . In the same year he went to Harare in Zimbabwe to do spiritual work . After returning to Germany, he retired on August 1, 1997.
