Martin Schwalba

Martin Schwalba (born February 3, 1935 in Falkenau ; † April 21, 2012 in Dessau-Roßlau ) was a German politician ( FDP ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Education and life

Martin Schwalba completed an agricultural apprenticeship from 1949 to 1952, graduated from high school in 1955 and attended the ABF Rostock. 1955 to 1960 he studied chemistry in Leipzig. There he worked from 1960 to 1964 as a scientific assistant and received his doctorate at the Institute for Organic Chemistry.

After graduating, he worked at the CKB Bitterfeld as laboratory manager, section manager and department manager.

Martin Schwalba was a Protestant, married and had two children.

politics

Martin Schwalba was non-party until the fall of the Berlin Wall and joined the FDP Saxony-Anhalt in February 1990 . In the local elections in May 1990, he was elected to the Dessau City Council, where he was active in the committees for economy, environmental protection and law. In the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990, he was elected to the state parliament via the state list.
