Martin Schwenk (artist)

Martin Schwenk (* 1960 in Bonn ) is a German sculptor , installation artist and draftsman .

Schwenk studied from 1981 to 1988 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy , where he was a master student of Günther Uecker . In 1995 he stayed at the “German Study Center” in Venice on the basis of a Karl Schmidt Rottluff grant . In 1998 he received project funding from the Foundation for Art and Culture of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1999 to 2003 he had a teaching position in the field of orientation at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. From 2001 to 2002 he made the Transfer Culture Secretariat Israel- North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 2011, Schwenk has been a professor of sculpture at the Mainz University of Art .
