Martin Tretter

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Martin Tretter († after 1506 ) was a German printer in Frankfurt an der Oder and Danzig .

Life

Martin Tretter may have initially worked for Martin Landsberg in Leipzig , since his Schwabach letters were identical to those of Landsberg. In 1502 he was in Frankfurt (Oder), where two cradle prints from his printing house are known, as the oldest in the city.

In 1505 and 1506 Tretter was in Danzig, as the second printer after Konrad Baumgarten . It is uncertain whether other works there were also from his printing house by 1520.
