Martin Vaughan

Martin Kevin Vaughan (born June 5, 1931 in Brisbane , Queensland ) is an Australian actor .

Life

Martin Vaughan has been in front of the camera since the late 1960s and has since appeared in over 110 film and television productions. For his portrayal of the Australian Prime Minister Billy Hughes in the television movie Billy and Percy (1974) he was honored with an award at the AACTA Awards . He had his most successful television role in 1976 as the leading actor in the award-winning series Power Without Glory , in which he played the corrupt business man John West - based on the real businessman John Wren - and received a Logie Award for most popular actor. Vaughan had other roles in the movie classic Picnic on Valentine's Day as well as the television series The Flying Doctors and In Search of Treasure Island . He is known to younger viewers for his supporting role as Max Hamilton in the teen series H2O - Suddenly Mermaid . In addition to his film and television roles, Martin Vaughan also had a successful career as a stage actor.
